About Shamelessplug
After six years of planning and development, we are very excited to finally open our doors. Shamelessplug is about bringing a spotlight to Independent bands and artists around the country. There are so many awesome bands and artists that go unheard and unseen for many different reasons and we want to change that!
What we do.
Shamelessplug is here to help promote Indie artists and bands all for free. We want to bring a light to them, to help increase their fan base and bring them more exposure. Shamelessplug provides a way for bands and artists to put up their show flyers and let all their fans and friends know where they are playing next. We will do whatever it takes to get millions of visitors to come to our site to see all of the show flyers. Our goal is to have Shamelessplug be the main spot where Indie fans come to search for their favorite musicians and to find new music to follow and see live.
How it works.
Shamelessplug is simple. If you're in a band or you are a solo artist all you need is a show flyer. All you have to do is upload your flyer, fill out your show info and then submit it. Be sure to check out the flyer requirements to make sure your flyer will be easy to see and read once uploaded. Once you submit your flyer, our crew will review it to make sure all the info is correct and that the flyer meets our viewing standards. Once it's approved we will kick the flyer live and we'll send you an email to let you know it is now on the Shamelessplug site. In that email we will also send you the direct URL to your flyer. Once you get that link, feel free to promote yourself further by sending it out to all your friends, letting them know about your show. Remember - every show flyer posted on Shamelessplug is able to be seen on through a direct link from the band or artist themselves and also through our search feature.
What sets us apart from the rest.
There are lots of good sites for Indie artists out there, and rather than compete with them, we are here to work along side them by offering additional ways to get indie artists more exposure. We focus on shows, bottom line. Listening to recorded music is one thing, but attending a show and hearing music played live is such an exciting experience. So, promoting the shows is where we come in.
We keep it simple. When you come to look through show flyers, we don't hassle anyone to set up an account, so you don't have to worry about remembering any passwords in order to search the site. There are way too many sites out there that make you create an account for no reason - not us. We want you to come to Shamelessplug and find what you want, plain and simple.
One of the site's benefits is that anyone can post a flyer. There are so many bands that are way too busy with tough gig schedules and a large majority also have to work for a living during the week. So, this is when indie fans can step in and support their favorites by posting their show flyer for them. This will help the fan base just grow and grow, and that's exactly what we want.
Also, we invite all the fans, friends and fellow artists to vote for show flyers. This really helps get the fans involved and is a great way to show support. As an artist this will give you a little insight into your fan base and just may encourage you to try and spread your wings some more in order to increase it. The best part of it is that all of this is absolutely free. We promote shows, we help increase your fan base and we get you more exposure. That's Shamelessplug.
What we are not.
We are here for the Independent bands and artists that are unsigned and need some that extra exposure. If you are a band or artist that has been signed to a major label, we will not post your flyers. We are not a social network. If any fan or artists want to get in touch with anyone they see on Shamelessplug they can only do so if the band or artist provides that info on their flyer page. Your information is safe with us. Any personal info that you submit with your flyer will stay with us. We will not give away your info to anyone. Shamelessplug does not offer any recording deals; we are only here as a way to promote Indie bands and artists. We promote you, we let you promote yourself and we bring in people to see your flyers and your shows. We are here for one purpose, to make sure Indie artists are seen and heard.
As we grow.
With each day that passes we will continue pounding the Internet pavement and keep on spreading the word about Shamelessplug. Our crew will be focusing all of our time promoting Shamelessplug — promoting you. We will go coast to coast to tell every venue, media outlet, radio station, etc. about us and prove that Shamelessplug is the best site to search for shows and events that feature Indie bands and artists. Our goal is to bring the people to you. We want your current fans and future fans to come together and find your info all in one place. Who knows...this just might bring you the opportunity to be finally signed to a major label and allow you to share your music all over the world. Now that is something to look forward to! For now, let's all take one step at a time. First things first — you need to get your flyer uploaded then we'll get things moving. But you can help us too.
